If you are thinking about adding/editing pages on the musician web, first of all, thank you for contributing to the site! To avoid problems or confusion, please read the editing rules below.
Before adding a musician, please check to make sure that the musician has not already been added. Also, please verify the spelling of the musician's name is correct, as this cannot be changed later.
If you suspect something has been added maliciously, whether this be an inappropriate musician image, obviously incorrect/offensive language in the description, or something else, DO NOT CHANGE IT. Instead, look at who last edited that musician’s page and report that user. If you take a screenshot of the malicious content, you may then, after reporting it, feel free to remove/change it.
When adding a musician, please use their first and last name as opposed to any nicknames they might go by.
Please do not copy-paste AI-generated text to add information to a musician or collaboration. While this information might be accurate, human-written language improves the authenticity of the site.
Please to not copy-paste text from another site such as Wikipedia. Text should be written in your own words to maintain originality.
When inputting start and end years, use the dates of a musician’s first and last gigs/recordings.
Collaborators should include musicians a musician is confirmed to have played with in a performance/professional setting. This could include on an album, gig, or concert.
To prevent malicious actors from doing excessive damage to the site, limits on the amounts of edits a user can make per day have been implemented. These levels are based on a user’s title, which is a measure of how trusted they are, determined by certain criteria. See the table below for titles, requirements to reach each title, and editing limits for each title. Again, these limits are only put in place as a precaution to protect the site.
